Send in the clowns

The final day of an amazing week of Clowning with Complicite. Our group of twenty congregate to clown in the large bright studio on the Holloway Road. The course leader, Clive Mendus, has taken us on a whistlestop tour of Ecole Jacques Lecoq techniques, through Feldenkrais and Commedia dell'Arte along the way, and in this intensive course 'CLOWN' we have honed the rhythm and movement of comedy, the delight of self-ridicule, and the keys to making people laugh.

I step out onto the street with my fully-accredited red nose and look forward to applying the physical comedy skills learnt to the playing of roles such as 'Cherubino' and 'Hansel'.
